We’re very pleased to announce John’s new video series, Headcast, which can be found at http://headcast.co.uk.
It’s a serious, searching look at the nature of perception and belief, and the ways in which reality is shaped by powerful men to suit their own agenda.
The full version costs $1.00 US – but this podcast is still free… !
I purchased the full version of the headcast, but the video fails to appear in Windoze Media Player 11 on an XP-SP2 machine.
I’ve emailed webmaster at headcast.co.uk since I couldnt find any other contact info…
This video is dead I tell you.
Sorry to hear that you are having problems. The file is Windows Media VC-1 video audio 9, which plays back on both PCs and Macs which have the up-to-date WMV codecs installed. You can download these from microsoft.com
I can’t find anywhere that says “buy” or “download” at headcast.co.uk at all.
I can only get audio on all platforms I have tried (XP-SP2, Vista Home) etc. Despite blundering around trying to load codecs etc…
For those who dont realize, this is DRM content – Digital Rights Management – that aspect works ok: when I first open the file in Windblows Media player it asks for my account(email)/password and obtains proper certification for it.
I just get no video (God, I *hope* there is supposed to be video?!?)
I’m happy I paid only $1 for this DRM adventure…
Hi Kerry,
Yes, there is video! Some people have experienced problems in playback similar to yours. Ã…smund – this is why the video is offline temporarily while we resolve the issue.
Brightcove have offered to help resolve our problems, so please email bc_support@brightcove.com – and if they can’t help you, let us know and we’ll gladly refund your dollar.
Cheers Dean!! I’ll try emailing the support address you quoted. No worries.
I dont care about my dollar – hell, Mr.Cleese has made me laugh so many times (and continues to do so) that a mere dollar doesn’t even start the thank-you engine!
Keep up the good work. The only recommendation I would have is to use some platform-agnostic format like divx and forget about DRM (but that’s just me…)
TRUE fans of J.C. (not Jesus Christ) would gladly contribute.
Hi Guys,
You still working with The Podcast Network on this venture?
Molly
I see now there are apparently QuickTime versions too – how can I now download a working version??
Spend another dollar?
Well, I coughed up another dollar for the .mp4 version and that worked a treat on my XP Pro-SP3 machine… “Hello Potters…” and video as well!
thanks!!!
